Vosne-Romanée 1er cru "Cros Parantoux" 2009 domaine Emmanuel Rouget (Magnum 1,5L)

94-97 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:

"The 2009 Vosne-Romanee Cros Parantoux flows onto the palate with seamless fruit. This is a gorgeous, expansive wine that shows off tons of pedigree and class. The fruit builds with notable intensity and depth towards a soft, caressing finish of nearly indescribable beauty. This is a great wine from Emmanuel Rouget. The Cros Parantoux was aged in 100% new oak. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2039." - Antonio Galloni (May 2011)

93-96 Points - Allen Meadows' Burghound:

"A highly spiced and fresh yet restrained and cool nose of wet stone, spice and high-toned red pinot fruit aromas is followed by stony, intense and beautifully delineated medium-bodied flavors that brim with an abundance of dry extract that largely buffers the very firm but ripe tannins on the stunningly long and still youthfully austere finish. This is a truly stunning effort that seamlessly combines finesse and power." (Jan 1, 2011)

93-96 Points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar:

"Deep, bright ruby-red. Dark aromas of black raspberry, licorice and crushed rock. Dense, tactile and compellingly sweet, with peppery lift giving a tangy quality and great perfume to this multidimensional wine. Shows a bit of the vintage's chocolatey ripeness with aeration, but boasts terrific acidity for the year. In fact, Rouget noted that he chaptalized the wine slightly (from 13.3% to 13.5%) to preserve the balance of the wine. Drier on the tactile, saline finish than in the middle, holding its density through an extremely long aftertaste. Wow!" - Stephen Tanzer (Jan/Feb '11)

93-95 Points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (2010 vintage):

"Good bright, deep red.  Still a bit reduced on the nose, offering aromas of raspberry, smoke and minerals.  Big and rich but fresh and sappy, with mouthfilling flavors of redcurrant, raspberry and spices.  Sweeter and more powerful than the Echezeaux, finishing with firm tannic spine and terrific fruity persistence." - Stephen Tanzer (Jan/Feb '12)

93-96 Points - Allen Meadows' Burghound (2010 vintage):

"Rouget noted that this had just finished its malo and not surprisingly the nose was heavily reduced. By contrast there was excellent punch and verve to the wonderfully precise mineral-driven flavors that possess a silky mouth feel before terminating in an explosive finish that delivers outstanding length. I very much like the level of complexity here as well as the decidedly understated style." (Jan 10, 2012)
